The two biggest electric two-wheeler manufacturers have now introduced entry-level models in their respective line-ups in a bid to attract more buyers - Ola Electric with the S1 Air launched late last month, and Ather Energy with the 450S, launched in the Indian market today.

The two e-scooters might be low on price, but seem to be packaged well, going neck and neck against each other on all fronts, including specs and features. Here is a detailed specifications and price comparison between the new Ather 450S and Ola S1 Air to help you decide which one offers better value for your money.




Electric powertrain

The Ather 450S' electric motor has a peak power output of 5.4 kW or 7.2 hp, while the Ola S1 Air's electric motor puts out 6 hp. Both the entry-level scooters have a 90 kmph top speed, but the S1 Air is slightly quicker accelerating from 0 to 40 kmph.

The Ather 450S gets a 2.9 kWh battery pack that provides a claimed range of 115 km on a single charge, while the Ola S1 Air's 3 kWh battery is good for a certified range of 125 km. The Ather 450S can be fully charged with the home charger in 8 hours and 36 minutes, while the Ola S1 Air is claimed to be able to charged in 5 hours.

Price
The Ather 450S is priced at Rs 1.3 lakh, while the Ola S1 Air undercuts it by Rs 20,000, priced at Rs 1.1 lakh (both prices, ex-showroom) before state subsidies. Do note that both prices are introductory, and will be slightly increased after a certain bookings/sales milestone has been achieved.
