Ather 450S electric scooter India launch LIVE updates: Price, specs, range of Ola S1 Air rival

The new features on the Ather 450S include a new non-touch display, which can be controlled by the new switchgear. The scooter also gets a fall-detect system that cuts the power supply if the scooter falls so you can hold the handlebar to pick it up without unintentionally accelerating it.

Ather 450S has a peak power output of 5.4 kW and a peak torque rating of 22 Nm, while the 450X makes 6.4 kW and 26 Nm.

The Ather 450S directly rivals the Ola S1 Air. The former is priced from Rs 1.3 lakh, while the latter is available from Rs 1.1 lakh (ex-showroom) before subsidies.

The Ather 450S has a claimed range of 115 km, while the 450X has a claimed range of 111 km for the smaller battery version and 150 km for the bigger battery.

The Ather 450S has a 5.4 kW peak power output, while the two 450X configurations have both 6.4 kW.

If the Ather 450 detects an angle of over 60 degrees, it will cut the power supply so you can hold the handlebar to pick it up without unintentionally accelerating it.

Ather had recently released a teaser announcing that it will be launching not one but three new products in the country today. While one of them is the 450S, the two others will also be a part of the 450 Series itself.

Ather Energy has claimed that the 450S will offer an IDC certified range of 115 km on a single full charge, which is 31 km lower than the 450X.

The Ather 450S' biggest rival will be the newly launched Ola S1 Air, which went on sale in the country recently.

The Ather 450S will go on to become Ather Energy's most affordable electric scooter in India, sitting below the 450X in the company's portfolio.
