As per the electric bus manufacturer, four of the delivered buses will run routes in the Coleraine area while the other two will cater to the transport requirements of the passengers traveling to the Giant’s Causeway. The Switch Solo features variable seating layout and lengths, making it suitable for urban, sub-urban and rural routes.

Speaking on the development, Mahesh Babu, CEO, Switch Mobility said that with the rise in the United Kingdom’s electric bus market, this deal will play a key role in fueling the green revolution.

Sarah Simpson, Translink Business Change Manager, said that this project is aimed at supporting their vision to cut the carbon footprint caused by transportation by 50 percent in the next seven years. Further, it’s a step towards achieving a zero emission fleet across Northern Ireland by 2040.

Switch Mobility has been ramping up its exports lately. The company recently completed the first dispatch of a 20-bus order from Stagecoach, one of the UK’s leading public transport firms.
