Switch Mobility delivers electric double decker buses to BEST: Offers 250 km range

Switch Mobility Ltd has delivered the first set of Switch EiV 22 electric double decker buses to Brihan Mumbai Electric Supply & Transport (BEST) in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The first set of deliveries is a part of the 200 electric double decker buses order from BEST.

Switch EiV 22 is India’s first electric double decker air-conditioned bus designed, developed, and manufactured in India. The company claims that the double decker EV bus is equipped with the "latest technology, ultra-modern design, highest safety, and best-in-class comfort features." The Switch EiV 22 is aimed at intra-city travel primarily.



The EiV 22 electric bus is equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous AC motor with a 235 kW peak output (140 kW continuous), and 3100 Nm max torque. The double decker bus can be charged from 1.5 hours to 3 hours, and Switch claims that it can run for 250 km before requiring a charge. This particular bus has a seating capacity of 65 pax, along with the driver seat. The EiV 22 is powered by a 231 kWh 2-string, liquid-cooled, higher density NMC chemistry battery pack with dual gun charging system.

These electric double decker AC buses will provide world-class travel experience to Mumbaikars. Fitted with live tracking devices, CCTV cameras and panic button for women safety, these buses will be 100% digital with Tap-in Tap-out' facility and will run on 100% green (solar energy)".
