VinFast unveils global e-scooter expansion with India in focus: Details
VinFast has outlined an ambitious global growth plan for its electric scooter business, naming the Philippines, Indonesia, India, Thailand and Malaysia as the first set of priority markets. The rollout will begin in these regions, which the company sees as offering strong potential due to rising urban mobility needs, favourable demographics and a growing shift toward cleaner transportation options. As part of this expansion, VinFast plans to introduce a range of battery-swapping electric scooters, including models such as the Flazz, Evo, Feliz II and Viper, with more products to follow. Each model has been developed with a focus on local riding conditions, usage patterns and customer preferences to better suit individual markets.
To support long-term growth, VinFast also aims to establish several hundred retail outlets across these markets by 2027. Its go-to-market strategy is designed to be flexible and cost-efficient, combining dealership networks, service infrastructure, financing solutions and energy support systems. This includes partnerships with V-Green to develop charging and battery-swapping infrastructure.
The company’s overseas push builds on its strong performance at home. In 2025, VinFast delivered 406,453 electric scooters in Vietnam, securing the top spot in the country’s scooter segment. With a portfolio of over 10 models across multiple categories and support from flexible charging and battery-swapping solutions, the brand has made electric scooters a mainstream mobility choice in its domestic market.
Looking ahead to 2026, VinFast has finalised its roadmap for three distinct scooter lines mainstream, premium and sport. It has already introduced seven new models in the premium and sport categories, strengthening its position in terms of design, performance and product differentiation. Backed by large-scale manufacturing, competitive pricing and a broader ecosystem that includes battery-swapping support from V-Green, the company plans to speed up the adoption of electric mobility both regionally and globally.
The Philippines has been selected as the first launch market under this global strategy. The company said that it has partnered with five established dealers across Luzon and Mindanao Maverick Racing Factory Inc., MotorCentral, New Nemar Development Corp., Supremebike Corporation and ARC Trading, to set up a nationwide sales and service network. These partners bring local expertise and have expressed strong support for sustainable mobility initiatives.
Over the past few years, VinFast has steadily developed a green mobility ecosystem across markets such as the Philippines, Indonesia and India through collaborations with local partners, as well as strategic alliances with companies like GSM, an all-electric taxi operator, and V-Green, which focuses on charging infrastructure. Beyond electric scooters, VinFast has also expanded its electric vehicle portfolio, offering models ranging from the compact VF 3 to the larger VF 9. This broader line-up is aimed at widening consumer choice and reinforcing the company’s role in the transition toward sustainable transportation.
VinFast currently sells two electric cars in the Indian market - VF6 and VF7. The VF6 is offered in three variants - Earth, Wind and Wind Infinity priced at Rs 16.49 lakh, Rs 17.79 lakh and Rs 18.29 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, respectively). The VF7 is offered in five variants - Earth, priced at Rs 20.89 lakh, Wind priced at Rs 23.49 lakh, Wind Infinity priced at Rs 23.99 lakh, Sky priced at Rs 24.99 lakh and Sky Infinity priced at Rs 25.49 lakh (all prices ex-showroom).
