Tata Motors silently discontinues select Punch variants: Details

Tata Motors' Punch has steadily emerged as a top-selling car in India, consistently ranking among the top three cars sold every month in 2024. The Punch’s appeal largely stems from its wide array of options, offering four primary trims – Pure, Adventure, Accomplished Plus, and Creative Plus – alongside the special Camo edition available in selected trims.

In a recent lineup update, Tata Motors has silently delisted the mid-spec Adventure and Adventure Rhythm trims across manual, AMT, and CNG versions of the Punch from its website. This leaves the compact SUV available in eight distinct trim levels. The Camo edition, introduced as a limited-run model for the festive season, remains unaffected by this update.

Despite these changes, the Punch remains available in 19 different variants, with prices starting at Rs 6.13 lakh and going up to Rs 10 lakh, ex-showroom. The SUV’s 1.2-liter petrol engine powers eight manual versions and six AMT variants, while five models include the CNG option. With the discontinuation of these mid-spec Adventure trims, there’s now a noticeable Rs 90,000 gap between the entry-level Pure (O) and the Adventure S trims.

The Punch’s 1.2-liter petrol engine, producing 86 hp and 115 Nm of torque, is available with both 5-speed manual and AMT transmissions. A CNG option also exists, albeit with a slightly lower power output of 73 hp and 103 Nm, exclusively paired with a manual gearbox.
