The homegrown automaker, Tata Motors today announced the launch of Re. Wi. Re-registered vehicle scrapping facility in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The facility was Inaugurated by Hon’ble union minister, Nitin Gadkari and Tata Motors claims this facility has a capacity of scrapping 15,000 vehicles per year.
Tata motors calls this facility as Re.Wi.Re - Recycle with Respect.
The company also said that this facility follows world-class, eco-friendly processes for the safe and sustainable dismantling of vehicles. The scrapping facility is developed in collaboration with Ganganagar Vaahan Udupi Pvt Ltd. The company also said that the facility is designed to dismantle passenger and commercial vehicles of all brands and ensures de-pollution.

Tata Motors said that the facility is fully digitised for hassle-free, paperless operations and has dedicated stations for the safe dismantling of components such as tyres, batteries, fuel, oils, liquids and gases. The company also said that the vehicles go through stringent documentation and dismantling process, curated individually for passenger and commercial vehicle requirements.
Inaugurating Tata Motors’ maiden Re.Wi.Re RVSF, Hon’ble Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India, Shri Nitin Gadkari said, “The National Vehicle Scrappage Policy was introduced with the aim to promote the circular economy by creating an ecosystem for phasing out unfit and polluting vehicles and to achieve a lower carbon footprint in the country by replacing them with greener and more fuel-efficient vehicles. I congratulate Tata Motors for setting up this quality facility that is at par with global standards. We are working towards positioning India as a vehicle scrapping hub for the entire South Asian region and need more such state-of-the-art scrapping and recycling units in India.”

In other news, Tata Motors recently launched the Red dark editions of the Tata Safari and Harrier SUV. The price for the Harrier starts from Rs 15 lakh and the price for the Safari starts from Rs 15.65 lakh (both prices ex-showroom).

Both SUVs get red brake callipers and a subtle red insert on the front grille. Other than this SUVs remain the same as before. Moving on to the interior, both SUVs get ‘Carnelian’ red seat upholstery, and grey trim on the dashboard.
The Harrier and Safari also get a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with updated UI. The SUVs also get a fully digital instrument cluster which displays various information. Both SUVs now also get ADAS features such as Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), forward collision alert, lane departure warning, lane change assist and traffic sign recognition.

Harrier and Safari continue to be powered by the same Fiat-sourced 2.0-litre Multijet turbo diesel engine which puts out 170 bhp of power and 350 Nm of torque. Gearbox options include a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter.
