That said, at the Auto Expo this year, the Safari and Harrier Red Dark were showcased with a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system which will replace the relatively outdated 7.0-inch unit that is currently on offer with the two SUVs. Apart from that, the Red Dark edition also adds a new fully-digital instrument cluster, a 360-degree camera, as well as ADAS safety tech. Do note that these features are also now available with other variants of the SUVs.
As for the Nexon Red Dark edition, it is yet to be seen if any new features will be on offer. That said, no changes are expected to be made to the powertrains of either of the three SUVs. The Tata Harrier and Safari Red Dark will be offered with the same 2.0-litre Kryotec diesel engine that powers the standard versions of the two cars. This engine produces 170 PS power and 350 Nm torque, and can be had with either a 6MT or a 6AT.
The Nexon, on the other hand, is offered with a 1.2-litre turbo petrol motor that belts out 120 PS power and 170 Nm torque, as well as a 1.5-litre diesel motor that generates 110 PS and 260 Nm. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual transmission, and an optional 6-speed AMT. Tata Motors had recently updated its entire line-up to comply with the upcoming RDE norms, so no mechanical changes will likely be made.
