Mercedes-Benz will launch the S400 in India on March 29. The luxury sedan will join a pool of other S-class models as the German auto giants look to further strengthen its market position in the country.

The S400 comes with a 3-litre, V6 petrol engine with a maximum torque of 480Nm and power of 324bhp. It is paired to a 7-speed or a 9-speed automatic gearbox.

though have no plans of bringing the hybrid version, much like how Ford opted to keep the ecoboost version of Mustang out of India.

The S400 is expected to be ideal for those looking for better economy over the available S500 with the V8 engine. Just like the other S-class models, specs like air suspension, cabin quality, huge amount of space and comfort is a given in this version as well.

It is expected that the S400's price will be around the 1.2 crore giving it a perfect soft spot between the S350d and S500.
