Luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz India has announced a price increase across its entire model range, effective January 1, 2025. The revision will see ex-showroom prices rise by up to 3%, with the adjustments ranging from Rs 2 lakh for the GLC SUV to Rs 9 lakh for the flagship Maybach S 680.

The price hike, according to Mercedes-Benz, is necessary to address the escalating costs of materials, inflationary trends, and increased logistics expenses. While the company has been absorbing the bulk of these costs for the past three quarters, it has decided to pass on a nominal portion to consumers to maintain its operational sustainability.

To ease the impact on customers, the company has announced price protection for all cars booked before December 31, 2024, including those currently out of stock. This means customers placing their orders this year can lock in current prices, avoiding the impending hike.

The company has been witnessing strong demand, recently reporting its highest-ever Q3 sales of 5,117 units in 2024—a 21% year-on-year growth. This announcement positions Mercedes-Benz as the first automaker in India to declare price increases for the upcoming year. As the calendar turns to 2025, similar moves from other manufacturers can be expected.

The German carmaker recently launched the C63 S E Performance in India at a starting price of Rs 1.95 crore, ex-showroom. This marks the brand’s final AMG launch for this year and their 14th launch of 2024.
