Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 launched in India at Rs 1.35 Cr: 0-100 in 4.2s, top-speed 270 kmph!

Mercedes-Benz has expanded its AMG line-up in India with the arrival of the CLE 53 4MATIC+ Coupe, priced at Rs 1.35 crore, ex-showroom. Following the CLE Cabriolet’s debut earlier this year, the coupe brings a more aggressive stance, wider proportions and a healthy dose of AMG-specific upgrades. On the outside, the CLE 53 boasts the signature AMG Panamericana grille with vertical slats, flared wheel arches, a muscular bumper design and quad exhausts. You also get Y-spoke 20-inch black alloys wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres. At the rear, a gloss-black diffuser and connected LED tail-lamps round off its sporty profile.

The cabin is familiar yet performance-focused, featuring Nappa leather sports seats, AMG-exclusive upholstery patterns and a flat-bottom performance steering wheel with drive mode selectors. A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster sits alongside an 11.9-inch portrait-oriented MBUX infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Also on offer are a Burmester 3D sound system, 64-colour ambient lighting, wireless charging and a panoramic sunroof. Driving modes include: Slippery, Comfort, Sport, Sport+, Individual, plus an AMG Dynamics setting.


As for the powertrain, there’s a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged inline-six paired with a 48V mild-hybrid under the hood. This setup delivers 450 hp and 560 Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels through a 9-speed automatic gearbox and the fully variable 4MATIC+ system, enabling a 0–100 kmph sprint in just 4.2 seconds. Top speed is limited to 250 kmph, with the AMG Performance Package pushing it up to 270 kmph.

In terms of safety, the CLE 53 gets eight airbags, Active Brake Assist, Blind Spot Assist, PRE-SAFE functions and a 360-degree camera. The model can be had with a wide range of colours to pick from, including Alpine Grey, Obsidian Black, Opalite White Bright, Spectral Blue, Graphite Grey Magno, Patagonia Red Metallic, Spectral Blue Magno and Sun Yellow.
