The SUV will be manufactured at Maruti Suzuki’s Gujarat plant and sold domestically, with a rebadged version also available under the Toyota brand. Its launch in India can be expected in March 2025, shortly after its showcase at the Bharat Mobility Expo. Once launched, the model will go against the likes of MG ZS EV, Mahindra BE 6, Tata Curvv EV and more.

Maruti Suzuki eVitara: Battery and range

Speaking of battery and range, the eVitara will be offered with two battery options: a 49 kWh battery and a larger 61 kWh unit. The 49kWh battery, paired with a single motor on the front axle, produces 144 hp. Meanwhile, the 61 kWh variant steps up the game with a more powerful single motor delivering 174 hp and an impressive range of up to 550 km on a single charge. Both versions use Lithium Iron-Phosphate (LFP) blade cells sourced from BYD.

Maruti Suzuki eVitara: Design and dimensions

The design of the eVitara draws heavy inspiration from the eVX concept, which was showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo in India. At the front, it boasts a closed-off grille flanked by tri-LED DRLs, while the lower bumper mirrors the styling of the Brezza. The side profile features aerodynamically designed 18-inch alloy wheels, flush-fitting door handles, and a chunky bulge over the rear wheel arch. The rear features connecting taillights and an integrated spoiler.
