After launching the Jimny 5-door SUV in the Indian market, Maruti Suzuki has revealed the Jimny in South Africa. The company has exported the 5-door Jimny five-door from India. The SUV marks its debut in the Military Green colour option, which is not available in the Indian market as of now.
Besides different colour options, the Maruti Suzuki Jimny five-door SUV will resemble the India-spec model. In terms of exterior, the 5-door Jimny comes equipped with a six-slate grille, circular LED headlamps with washers, fog lamps, 20-inch alloy wheels, drip rail, and more. Furthermore, it gets a tailgate-mounted spare wheel and power windows buttons between the front seats.
On the inside, the Jimny sports a 9.0-inch SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, auto climate control, cruise control, and keyless entry and go. Following an all-black interior theme, the 5-door Jimny gets a dashboard-mounted grab handle, circular dials for HVAC controls, and more. Safety suite of the Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door consists of six airbags, Hill-Hold Assist, a rear-view camera, ESP and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
Maruti Suzuki is offering the Jimny SUV in the Indian market in five single-tone and two dual-tone exterior paint schemes, including Nexa Blue, Bluish Black, Sizzling Red, Granite Grey, Pearl Arctic White, Sizzling Red with Bluish Black roof and Kinetic Green with Bluish Black roof.
Underpinned by a ladder-frame chassis, the Jimny sports a 3-link rigid axle suspension and an electronic traction control system. Mechanically, the Maruti Suzuki Jimny remains unchanged. Under the hood, it uses the same 1.5-litre K15B engine, generating a peak power of 100 hp and a max torque of 134 Nm. The engine comes mated with a five-speed manual or a four-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Maruti Suzuki Jimny offers a claimed fuel efficiency of 16.94 kmpl for MT variant, while the AMT variant returns a claimed mileage of 16.39 kmpl.
The Jimny 5-door gets Suzuki's AllGrip Pro 4WD system with a manual transfer case and low-range gearbox with ‘2WD-high’, ‘4WD-high’ and ‘4WD-low’ modes. It has a ground clearance of 210mm. Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door SUV price in India ranges between Rs 12.74 lakh to Rs 15.05 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
