Maruti Suzuki Eeco Star edition launched: Here’s what’s new
Maruti Suzuki India has launched a new ‘Star Edition’ accessory package for the Maruti Suzuki Eeco, priced at Rs 19,999. The package is offered as an optional dealer-fitted accessory kit and is available with the five-seater AC and five-seater AC CNG variants of the van. Maruti Suzuki has also reduced the price of the accessory package from Rs 37,000 to Rs 19,999. The package cost remains separate from the vehicle’s ex-showroom price.
The Star Edition package adds 18 accessories to the Maruti Suzuki Eeco across the exterior and interior. Exterior additions include a rear spoiler, fog lamps with garnish, wheel covers, door visors, mud flaps and chrome badging, while body-coloured bumpers are offered in Metallic Glistening Grey and Metallic Brisk Blue shades. Inside, the package brings an interior styling kit and revised seat covers aimed at improving the cabin’s overall appearance while retaining the van’s practical nature.
Features-wise, the EECO gets six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, reverse parking sensors, front seatbelt reminders, engine immobiliser, halogen headlamps, manual AC, reclining front seats, cabin air filter, digital instrument cluster, dome lamp, 13-inch steel wheels, sliding doors, 12V charging socket and a dual-tone interior theme.
Talking about the powertrain, it continues to get a 1.2-litre DualJet petrol engine with 80 bhp of power and a peak torque output of 104.4 Nm. While running on CNG, the power output is decreased to 71 bhp and the torque falls to 95 Nm. Gearbox options include only a 5-speed manual and the engine is compatible with E20 fuel- a blend of 20% ethanol and 80% petrol.
The Maruti Suzuki Eeco continues to remain one of Maruti Suzuki’s most practical offerings, catering to both personal and commercial use. Despite maintaining strong sales, the van has traditionally featured a basic equipment list and simple overall presentation. With the new Star Edition package, the company appears to be aiming to add some visual freshness while also offering buyers additional showroom-level customisation options.
