Maruti Suzuki India recently updated the Maruti Celerio with six airbags as standard across all variants at an increased price. And now, the company has updated the Maruti Brezza Compact SUV in the same manner. The Brezza now gets six airbags as standard across all variants and the prices start from Rs 8.69 lakh (ex-showroom). The top-spec ZXI+ variant of the Maruti Brezza already included six airbags, meaning that the price increase applies to all other trims except the range-topping model.
The Brezza is offered in four main variants - LXi, VXi, ZXi and ZXi Plus. The LXi, VXi and ZXi trims also get a CNG option, whereas the automatic gearbox option is offered in VXi, ZXi and ZXi plus variant. With the inclusion of four additional airbags, the price of the entry-level Brezza LXI variants has increased by up to Rs 15,000. In comparison, the VXI and ZXI trims have seen smaller price hikes of Rs 5,000 and Rs 11,000, respectively.

Talking about the engine, it gets a 1.5-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that comes with mild-hybrid tech. The engine produces 103 PS power and 137 Nm torque and can be had with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic. The Brezza also gets a CNG option with a 5-speed manual gearbox option.
