Made-in-India Mahindra XUV 3XO launched in South Africa: Gets these changes
Mahindra and Mahindra launched the new Mahindra XUV 3XO in the Indian market in April 2024. Since then it’s been a success and now the company has launched the India-made XUV 3XO in the South African market. The South African is also the first international market to get this updated SUV.
The Mahindra XUV 3XO in South Africa is offered with three variants and a sole 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine which puts out 108 hp of power and 200 nm of torque. Gearbox options include only a 6-speed torque converter. The three variants are AX3, AX5 L, and AX7 L and are priced between R2,54,999 to R4,04,999 (about Rs 12.1 to 19.3 lakh at current exchange rates). This means the XUV 3XO in South Africa is over Rs 4.5 lakh more expensive than the Indian spec variants.
In terms of design, the XUV 3XO launched in South Africa does not get any cosmetic changes. It features a piano black grille with chrome slats flanked by LED headlights with C-shaped DRLs. On the sides it gets newly designed 17-inch alloy wheels. Moving rear, the SUV gets a re-designed tailgate with connected tail lights, bold XUV 3XO lettering, an integrated spoiler, high high-mounted stop lamp, a scuff plate and more.
However, the South African modes get some changes inside. The overall interior layout is the same but it gets an all-black cabin and black leatherette seats as opposed to the dual-tone black and white interior with white leatherette seats.
In terms of features it gets a free-standing 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, AdrenoX connected car tech, Harman/Kardon 7 speaker audio system, dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless charger, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, a 65W Type C charging port, ambient lighting, 360-degree surround camera, leatherette seats, revised centre console, and rear AC vents, rear type-C charging port and more.
