Kwik Trip, the popular Midwest convenience store chain, has announced plans to expand its services by introducing electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. In a statement released Monday, the company revealed that they will soon offer Direct Current (DC) fast chargers at select locations across the region. The move is part of the growing infrastructure aimed at supporting the increasing demand for EV charging options.

The charging stations will provide a minimum of 150 kW of power per dispenser when four vehicles are plugged in simultaneously and up to 400 kW of power for a single vehicle. These high-powered chargers will enable faster and more efficient charging, catering to the needs of EV drivers.

Mobile app to improve charging experience

In addition to installing EV chargers, Kwik Trip is developing a mobile app that will allow customers to locate charging stations, check pricing, and view real-time availability. This move aims to streamline the charging experience for users across the Midwest.

Kwik Trip’s expansion into EV charging aligns with efforts from Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers, who in March signed legislation to establish an EV charging network along the state’s highways and interstates. As part of this initiative, 24 Kwik Trip stores in Wisconsin received grants to build charging stations, further bolstering the state’s electric vehicle infrastructure.
