Hyundai launches Prime Taxi range in India, bookings at Rs 5,000! Details
Hyundai Motor India has entered the commercial mobility space with the launch of its dedicated Prime Taxi range in the country. The new line-up includes two models: Prime HB (hatchback) and Prime SD (sedan), developed specifically to meet the needs of taxi operators and fleet owners. Bookings for both models are now open across Hyundai dealerships nationwide at a token amount of Rs 5,000.
The Prime Taxi range is powered by Hyundai’s 1.2-litre Kappa four-cylinder engine, available with petrol and company-fitted CNG options. A factory-installed speed limiting function, capped at 80 kmph, is also standard and comes with a three-year warranty. Hyundai says the focus has been on delivering low operating costs, predictable maintenance and strong earning potential for commercial users.
Prices for the Prime range start at Rs 5.99 lakh for the Prime HB and Rs 6.89 lakh for the Prime SD, both ex-showroom. Hyundai claims fuel efficiency figures of 27.32 km/kg for the Prime HB and 28.40 km/kg for the Prime SD when running on CNG.
Both models are equipped with features such as six airbags, rear AC vents, electrically adjustable ORVMs, steering-mounted audio controls, speakers, front and rear power windows, rear parking sensors, central locking, a rear defogger, emergency stop signal and three-point seatbelts. The Prime HB additionally gets rear adjustable headrests and keyless entry.
Hyundai is also offering a range of optional accessories such as a vehicle location tracking device with four panic buttons and a 9-inch infotainment system with rear camera and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The company has introduced a specially designed extended warranty covering the fourth and fifth year or up to 1,80,000 km, whichever is earlier.
