Hyundai Exter micro-SUV bookings open at Rs 11,000: Variants and features revealed
Hyundai Motor India today opened the bookings for the much anticipated Hyundai Exter Micro SUV. The booking amount is set at Rs 11,000 and the customers interested can book the car online or by visiting their nearest dealership. The launch is expected to happen this festive season and the SUV will compete with Tata Punch, Maruti Ignis and Citroen C3.
Talking about the design, the Exter is based on Hyundai’s new design language and will feature a split headlamp setup with H-shaped LED DRLs. The upper part gets turn indicators whereas the lower part gets a headlamp cluster with projector lamps. At the side, the Exter gets a squared chunky wheel arch with dual-tone alloy wheels.
At the rear, the Exter features a thick black stripe that connects both the tail lamps and it also gets a black-out bumper with a diffuser. The taillamps get LED treatment and it gets ‘H' shaped DRLs similar to the front. Colour options will include 6 Monotone and 3 Dual tone including 2 new & Exclusive colours - Cosmic Blue, and Ranger Khaki which are also available with Dual tone colour options.
Hyundai India also confirmed the powertrain options for the new Exter. The Micro SUV will be powered by the same 1.2-litre VTVT NA petrol engine that also does the duty in Venue, i20, Grand i10 Nios and Aura. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and an AMT. The SUV will also get a CNG option which comes paired with a 5–speed manual.
In terms of features, the Exter is expected to get a first-in-segment sunroof, an 8-inch floating infotainment system, connected car tech, a wireless charger, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, semi-digital cluster, six airbags and many more. The Exter will be offered in five variants - EX, S, SX, SX(O) and SX (O) Connect.
