Hyundai Creta Flex Fuel breaks cover in India: Compatible with 100% ethanol!
Hyundai has showcased the Creta Flex Fuel SUV at the ongoing Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. This version of the popular SUV is designed to run on both 100% petrol and 100% ethanol. The Creta Flex Fuel is already available in select South American markets, where higher ethanol blends are widely used.
From the outside, the Creta Flex Fuel retains the same design as the standard ICE version. However, under the hood, it is powered by a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, which has been specially optimized to handle up to 100% ethanol blends. This engine, also doing its job in the Hyundai Venue, delivers an output of 120 hp and 172 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties are handled by a six-speed automatic gearbox.
While Hyundai’s ethanol-powered offering grabbed attention at the event, the company also announced the pricing for the much-anticipated Creta Electric. The electric version of the SUV is priced from Rs 17.99 lakh, ex-showroom, and will be offered with two battery pack options: 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh. The smaller 42 kWh battery delivers an ARAI-certified range of 390 km, while the larger 51.4 kWh variant offers 473 km on a single charge.
In terms of performance, the Creta EV’s smaller battery is paired with an electric motor producing 135 hp, while the larger pack boosts the power output to 171 hp. The long-range model can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 7.9 seconds. The Creta Electric also offers three driving modes: Eco, Normal, and Sport.
