Hyundai cars to get expensive from this date: Here’s by how much

Hyundai Motor India has announced that it will hike prices of its cars from May 1, 2026, by up to 1 per cent. The company noted in a regulatory filing that the extent of the increase will differ depending on the specific model and variant, without sharing detailed figures. This marks Hyundai’s second price hike in 2026, after a 0.6 per cent increase in January. The prices of the new-generation Venue also went up by up to Rs 20,000 in March following the end of its introductory pricing, it remains to be seen whether the upcoming revision will also apply to this model.

The company said the decision is driven by higher input costs, noting that a portion of the increase is being passed on through a limited price adjustment. Hyundai’s model range is priced from Rs 5.55 lakh for the Grand i10 Nios, going up to Rs 46.30 lakh for the all-electric Ioniq 5. A 1 per cent price hike would translate to an increase of roughly Rs 5,500 to Rs 46,300 across Hyundai’s range, depending on the model and variant.



In other news, the company recently launched the Hyundai Exter facelift. This marks the first facelift for the micro SUV since its launch in 2023, bringing cosmetic updates, new features, enhanced safety and other improvements. It's now priced between Rs 5.79 lakh and Rs 9.41 lakh (both prices ex-showroom).

The 2026 Hyundai Exter gets exterior updates, including a wider front fascia, revised bumper and a new black radiator grille. It also features new 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. At the rear, the SUV receives a redesigned tailgate, updated C-pillar garnish and a wing-type spoiler as part of the styling changes. Moving inside, the overall layout still remains the same but now it features a dual-tone navy and grey cabin theme and a 3D carbon-pattern dashboard finish. It also adds a D-cut steering wheel, metal pedals, new seat upholstery and a folding driver armrest. Driver seat height adjustment and adjustable rear headrests are now standard across variants. Petrol versions continue to offer 391 litres of boot space.
