Revival of the iconic Vanquish nameplate

Reviving the Vanquish nameplate, which has been intermittently used since 2001 with the last models ceasing production in 2018, this two-seat coupe features a 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 engine generating 835PS (823 horsepower) and 1000Nm (737 pound-feet) of torque. This move demonstrates that the 111-year-old marque remains committed to internal combustion engines, even as many competitors shift towards hybrids and electric vehicles.

Vanquish: Top speed and features

The Vanquish boasts the highest top speed (214 mph) of any Aston Martin series production car to date. It follows the brand’s tradition of front-engine V12 sports cars, joining models like the Valour and DBS. The car features an eight-speed automatic transmission with a central lever for drive, neutral, and reverse, and manual override with wheel-mounted paddle shifters.

Vanquish: Innovative design and luxury details

In terms of design, the Vanquish includes a full-length panoramic glass roof with a tint allowing 6% light transmission and a low-e coating for UV protection. The coupe’s design incorporates a teardrop shape with a prominent rear lip, a longer wheelbase compared to the previous DBS, carbon fibre bodywork, 21-inch forged alloy wheels, and Pirelli P Zero tires. Additionally, it features Bilstein DTX dampers and an electronic rear differential to optimise traction. Inside, the Vanquish is equipped with the same infotainment system found in the DB12, Vantage, and DBX 707 SUV, featuring dual digital screens.

Vanquish: Pricing and availability

As Aston Martin aims to enhance its luxury positioning—with prices averaging more than four-and-a-half times that of BMW and double those of Porsche—the Vanquish is expected to be priced higher than the current top model, the $429,000 Aston Martin DBS Volante Ultimate. The exact pricing has not yet been disclosed. Limited to fewer than 1,000 units annually, the Vanquish is now available for purchase, with deliveries set to begin later this year.
