2026 Tata Tiago teased, launch soon: New design, EV version revealed
Tata Motors has teased the next-generation Tata Tiago ahead of its official launch on May 28. The company has revealed both the petrol as well as the EV versions of the updated hatchback. As seen in the short teaser video, both models get a much sharper exterior design while retaining its familiar compact proportions. Here’s a quick look at everything that you need to know.
At the front, the new Tiago gets a completely redesigned fascia with slimmer full-LED headlamps and integrated LED DRLs. There’s a gloss black panel running across the nose with the Tata Motors logo in the centre. The bumper has also been revised and has a trapezoidal design with multiple horizontal slats in the centre.
The carmaker has differentiated the petrol and electric versions through their front-end treatment. The ICE model gets a more conventional lower grille setup and fog lamps integrated into the bumper, while the EV features a cleaner, body-coloured closed-off front section.
One interesting detail visible in the teaser is the presence of a front camera, hinting at the addition of a 360-degree camera system. Other expected additions include a revised digital instrument cluster, an updated touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charging and possibly ventilated front seats on higher trims.
The side profile remains largely similar to the outgoing model, although Tata has added fresh alloy wheel designs. The petrol version gets new dual-tone diamond-cut alloys, while the EV receives aero-style wheel inserts.
At the rear, the biggest change is the addition of connected LED tail-lamps. The rear bumper has also been redesigned and now features vertical reflectors. A shark-fin antenna and roof spoiler is also present. Interestingly, both the petrol and EV versions look almost identical from the rear, with only the “Tiago.ev” badging and green registration plate helping differentiate the electric version. Tata also showcased the hatchback in new shades, including green and orange.
Mechanically, the standard Tiago is expected to remain unchanged. It is likely to continue with the same 1.2-litre NA petrol engine, offered with manual and AMT gearbox choices. Tata is also expected to retain the factory-fitted CNG option. The current petrol engine produces 86 PS and 113 Nm, while the CNG version develops 73.4 PS and 95 Nm.
The Tiago EV, meanwhile, is expected to receive bigger updates under the skin. Tata could introduce a larger 30 kWh battery pack with improved range figures, faster charging capabilities. Full details regarding specifications, features and pricing will be revealed at the official launch later this month.
