2026 Hyundai Exter: Variant-wise features with price explained
Hyundai Motor India recently launched the new and updated 2026 Hyundai Exter facelift in the Indian market. This is the first update for the micro SUV since its 2023 debut, introducing design changes, additional features, improved safety and other updates. It is priced between Rs 5.79 lakh and Rs 9.41 lakh (ex-showroom) and continues to rival the Tata Punch, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, Maruti Suzuki Fronx and Toyota Taisor.
Interested customers can book the new Exter online or by visiting their nearest dealership. Deliveries are expected to start by the end of this month. The updated Exter also receives new variant names and is offered in six variants - HX2, HX4, HX4+, HX6, HX8, and HX10. Additionally, it also gets two new colour options - Golden Bronze and Titanium black matte. In this article, let’s take a look at variant-wise features of the new Exter with prices.
Hyundai Exter HX2

The HX2 is the entry level trim and gets features such six airbags, halogen headlights, LED tail-lights, 15-inch steel wheels without covers, rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, ESC, hill start assist, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, three-point seat belts with reminders for all passengers, an all-black cabin theme, fabric seat upholstery, a semi-digital driver’s display, manual AC, front power windows, driver seat height adjustment, adjustable rear headrests and a 12V power outlet for front passengers.
Hyundai Exter HX3

Next comes HX3 and gets features such as an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, front and rear speakers, steering-mounted controls, a Type-C USB port for front passengers, a rear parking camera with driver rearview monitor, a day/night adjustable IRVM, a roof-mounted antenna and a navy and grey interior theme.
Hyundai Exter HX4

The HX4 trim additionally adds a tyre pressure monitoring system, LED DRLs, 15-inch steel wheels with dual-tone covers, rear AC vents, all power windows with driver-side auto-down, electrically adjustable ORVMs, Type-C USB ports for rear passengers and a rear parcel tray on petrol variants. There’s also HX4 Plus offered only with petrol AMT option priced at Rs 8.06 lakh (ex-showroom). It additionally gets an electric sunroof, LED turn indicators on ORVMs, wheel arch cladding and electrically foldable ORVMs.

The top-of-the-line HX10 is offered only with an automatic gearbox priced at Rs 9.42 lakh (ex-showroom). It gets all the features mentioned above, additionally it gets an on board navigation, metal pedals and connected car tech with roof-mounted buttons.

The 2026 Hyundai Exter gets exterior updates, including a wider front fascia, revised bumper and a new black radiator grille. It also features new 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. At the rear, the SUV receives a redesigned tailgate, updated C-pillar garnish and a wing-type spoiler as part of the styling changes. Moving inside, the overall layout still remains the same but now it features a dual-tone navy and grey cabin theme and a 3D carbon-pattern dashboard finish. It also adds a D-cut steering wheel, metal pedals, new seat upholstery and a folding driver armrest. Driver seat height adjustment and adjustable rear headrests are now standard across variants. Petrol versions continue to offer 391 litres of boot space.
The 2026 Hyundai Exter continues with a 1.2-litre four-cylinder Kappa petrol engine, offered with manual and AMT options. Hyundai says it remains the only model in its segment with a four-cylinder engine. A CNG variant with a dual-cylinder setup is also available, now with an underbody-mounted spare wheel as standard, offering 225 litres of boot space.
