2025 Defender V8 launched at Rs 1.39 crore: What's new
The 2025 Defender lineup has been launched in India, featuring upgraded powertrains on select trims, enhanced features, and more. Starting at Rs 1.39 crore, ex-showroom, the MY25 Defender is available in three body styles: Defender 90, 110, and 130. Let’s take a look at what’s new.
A key highlight of the 2025 model is the inclusion of the V8 P425 engine across more variants. This 5.0-litre powerhouse generates 426 hp and 610 Nm of torque and will be available with two trims: X-Dynamic HSE and X. Previously reserved for top-end variants, the V8 engine now broadens its availability with the 2025 iteration.
Besides that, the Defender 130, offered in three-row configuration, also gains a new Captain Chairs Pack, featuring individual second-row seats for added luxury and better access to the third row. Inside, the SUV offers upgraded materials like Windsor leather and KvadratTM fabric, along with a redesigned center console for improved storage.
Moreover, the MY25 Defender gets other technological updates such as Terrain Response 2, Configurable Terrain Response, and Electronic Air Suspension. A set of all-terrain tyres and 20-inch Satin Dark Grey alloy wheels further enhance its rugged appeal.
The feature list includes a panoramic sunroof, configurable ambient lighting, and a fully digital driver’s display. It also comes equipped with 14-way power-adjustable front seats featuring heating, cooling, and memory functions, along with a 360-degree camera system and an 11.4-inch touchscreen infotainment setup. Optional packs, like the Cold Climate and Advanced Off-Road bundles, allow buyers to customize the Defender to their needs, offering features such as adaptive dynamics, wade sensing, and electronic active differentials.
