Honda Cars India is readying a mid-life facelift for the City, all set to be launched in the country on March 2, 2023. Just days ahead of the launch, the 2023 City facelift has been leaked in a video uploaded on YouTube, revealing its complete design - both on the outside, as well as inside.
The 2023 Honda City facelift can be seen flaunting a redesigned front bumper which looks slightly more aggressive, while the honeycomb grille design is also retouched.
The sides feature a new design for the diamond-cut alloy wheels, while the overall profile remains unaltered. Moving to the rear, there's a new lip-spoiler as well as a new faux diffuser integrated in the rear bumper.
On the inside, the overall cabin layout remains the same, featuring a dual-tone treatment. It retains the 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, push start/stop button, automatic climate control, ventilated seats, an electric sunroof, automatic adjustable and retractable wing mirrors and so on. However, new features like ventilated front seats and a wireless phone charger will likely be on offer.
That said, Honda will also offer the new City facelift with some Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, collision mitigation braking, road departure mitigation, and auto high beam. These Honda Sensing suite of ADAS features are already offered with the
Honda City e:HEV (hybrid), and will now trickle down to the standard version of the sedan.

The upcoming Honda City facelift will likely be a petrol-only offering, with the carmaker ditching the 1.5-litre diesel engine. The 1.5-litre NA petrol engine (121 PS/145 Nm) will be upgraded to comply with the RDE norms, while it could also be made E20 fuel compliant. The 1.5-litre strong-hybrid petrol engine on the City Hybrid is also expected to be introduced on some lower variants to make it more accessible. Transmission options with the NA petrol engine will include a 6-speed MT, and an optional CVT, while the hybrid engine will be available with a standard e-CVT.
Pricing for the Honda City facelift is expected to start from about Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom), and it will continue to rival the likes of Skoda Slavia, Volkswagen Virtus, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, as well as the Hyundai Verna - which is set to receive a generational update next month.
