2023 Honda City facelift launch soon: Everything we know so far

Honda cars India launched the popular fifth-generation Honda City sedan on July 2020. It’s been almost two years and now it’s time for the minor facelift. Honda cars will soon give the City a mid-cycle update, the City will get cosmetic changes and new variants with additional features.

The 2023 Honda City will get minor cosmetic changes to the sedan such as redesigned front and rear bumpers, headlights, re-designed diamond-cut alloy wheels and new colour options.The sedan will also feature a new grille with a honeycomb pattern and newly designed fog lamp housing.
On the side, there will be no changes made to the sedan and moving on to the back the City will get a tweaked diffuser and redesigned rear bumpers with reflectors.

Moving on to the interior, the dashboard design of the new City will remain the same as before. The Sedan will get an updated infotainment system with new UI and wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The sedan is also expected to get Honda sensing ADAS system as seen in the Honda City Hybrid. Other features will include a sunroof, semi-digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, ambient lighting, flat-bottom steering wheel with mounted controls and many more.

The new Honda City will be available in petrol-only or petrol-hybrid models. Sadly, the diesel powertrain will be discontinued due to upcoming RDE norms. The updated City will be powered by a 1.5-litre NA petrol engine which produces 119 bhp of power and 145 Nm of torque.

The hybrid variants of the Honda City will be powered by the 1.5-litre Atkinson cycle petrol engine paired with two electric motors which produce a combined 124 bhp of power and 253 Nm of torque.
The prices for the new Honda City are expected to start from Rs 12.5 lakh (ex-showroom). Upon launch, it continues to compete with Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia and the upcoming Hyundai Verna.
