Jeep India has officially teased the ‘Trailhawk’ version of the
Compass facelift on its social media handles, with a launch expected as soon as next month. The 2022 Compass Trailhawk will sit atop the mid-size SUV’s variant line-up, and offer more off-road cred over the standard Compass.
The 2022
Jeep Compass Trailhawk will feature the same overall design as the regular Compass.
However, the SUV will get some unique styling elements that will enhance its rugged appeal. Some expected changes include a blacked-out front grille, updated front and rear bumpers to improve approach and departure angles, new 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in all-terrain tyres, more ground clearance, slightly updated headlamps and foglamps, a rear tow hook etc.
Other changes will likely include ‘Trail Rated 4x4’ badging on the front fenders and a hood decal. It is yet to be seen if the Trailhawk version will be offered with some additional features. Jeep will likely offer the Compass Trailhawk with the 2.0-litre MultiJet diesel engine only. This engine puts out 173PS of max power and 350Nm of peak torque, and will only be available with a 9-speed automatic transmission in all likelihood. An all-wheel drive configuration will be standard.
The Compass Trailhawk will be based on the top-end S variant of the Compass, and hence, will come packed with features such as a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, connected car tech, Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a wireless charging pad, 8-way powered and ventilated front seats, and so on.
As of now, the Jeep Compass is priced from Rs 17.79 lakh to Rs 29.34 lakh (ex-showroom). We expect the 2022 Compass Trailhawk to command a premium of around Rs 1 lakh over the range-topping S trim.
