Suzuki Intruder 150 cruiser discontinued in India: Here's why
Suzuki Motorcycle India Ltd has removed the Intruder 150 cruiser motorcycle from its official website, confirming that the bike has been discontinued at last. Originally launched back in 2017, the Intruder 150 drew visual inspiration from the bigger Intruder M800 and M1800 motorcycles, and made use of the same powertrain as the Gixxer 150.
However, sales of the Intruder 150 never really managed to take off in the Indian market. Dismal sales have resulted in the discontinuation of the entry-level cruiser motorcycle. The Intruder 150 drew power from a 154.9 cc single-cylinder engine that put out 14.8 PS of maximum power at 8,000 rpm and 14 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm. This engine came mated to a 5-speed transmission.
The suspension duties on the motorcycle were handled by conventional telescopic forks at the front, along with a monoshock at the rear. The braking setup consisted of disc brake on both ends with single-channel ABS. The Suzuki Intruder 150 directly put up against the Bajaj Avenger in the Indian market.
As of now, Suzuki doesn't seem to have a replacement lined up for the Intruder 150 in the near future. Suzuki recently launched the V-Strom SX in the country at a starting price of Rs 2.11 lakh (ex-showroom). The 250 cc adventure touring motorcycle is based on the same platform as the Gixxer 250, and rivals the KTM 250 Adventure, Royal Enfield Himalayan, as well as the Yezdi Adventure in India.
