At the India Bike Week 2023 in Goa last week, Kawasaki launched the updated W175 motorcycle along with a new, more-modern version of the bike called W175 Street. With a price slash, the W175 is now priced competitively to the Yamaha FZ-X - its biggest rival in India.

Engine specsThe Kawasaki W175 is equipped with a 177 cc air-cooled engine producing 12.9 hp of maximum power and 13.2 Nm of peak torque, whereas the Yamaha FZ-X gets a 149 cc air-cooled motor making 12.2 hp and 13.3 Nm. Both motorcycles get a 5-speed gearbox.

Price
With the latest Rs 25,000 price cut, the Kawasaki W175 undercuts the Yamaha FZ-X by up to Rs 14,000. The Kawasaki W175 is priced from Rs 1.22 lakh to Rs 1.31 lakh, while the newly launched W175 Street with alloy wheels and tubeless tyres is priced at Rs 1.35 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom).

The Yamaha FZ-X is priced between Rs 1.36 lakh and Rs 1.37 lakh (ex-showroom) depending on the colour. It should be noted that the FZ-X gets a host of features over the W175 range, including an LCD instrument cluster, all LED lighting, connected tech, traction control, and a rear disc brake.
