Following the global unveil in London last week, Triumph Motorcycles and Bajaj Auto introduced the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X in the Indian market recently. The Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X are designed by Triumph and will be produced in Bajaj Auto’s new Chakan plant.

Triumph Motorcycles, in partnership with Bajaj Auto, launched the Speed 400 in the Indian market. Here are the top things to know about the Triumph Speed 400.

Triumph Street 400: Design

In terms of design, the Triumph Street 400 gets a signature sculpted tank with knee indents, Triumph lettering with a triangle badge, an upswept silencer, and exhaust header clamps.

Triumph Street 400: All-LED lighting

The Triumph Street 400 features an LED Daytime Running Light with a Triumph DRL signature, LED indicators, and an LED tail light with molded light guides and Triumph branding.

Triumph Speed 400: Colour options

Featuring a Triumph tank graphic, the Speed 400 motorcycle is offered in dual-tone paint schemes, including ​Carnival Red, Caspian Blue, and Phantom Black.

Triumph Speed 400: Seat height

Triumph Speed gets a slim waistline seat, with a seat height of 790 mm, and a low weight of 170kg to ensure easy feet-down manoeuvres.

Triumph Speed 400: Braking

The Triumph Speed 400 is equipped with a traction control system, which is switchable with a button. Furthermore, the bike gets Bosch dual-channel ABS for the rider's safety in all conditions. It also features four-piston radial front brakes with a 300mm front disc.

Triumph Speed 400: Dual-format instrument cluster

Triumph Speed 400 sports a dual-format instrument cluster, embedding an analogue speedometer and an integrated LCD screen. The screen displays a digital tachometer, a fuel range remaining, and a prominent gear indicator. Additionally, the bike gets a USB-C charging socket.

Triumph Speed 400: Engine and transmission

Powering the Triumph Speed 400 is a 398.15 cc liquid-cooled, 4-valve, DOHC, single-cylinder engine, churning out a peak power of 39 hp and a max torque of 37.5 Nm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox.

Triumph Speed 400: Suspension

Talking about the suspension, the Triumph Speed 400 gets 43mm big-piston upside-down front forks and a mono-shock rear suspension unit with an external reservoir. The roadster sits on 17-inch wheels and uses a cast-aluminium swingarm.

Triumph Speed 400: Price

Triumph has launched the Speed 400 roadster for Rs 2,33,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). However, the company has also announced an introductory price of Rs 2,23,000 (ex-showroom) for the first 10,000 customers.

Customers can book the Triumph Speed 400 at a token amount of Rs 2,000 at the official website or authorized Triumph dealerships across India.
