CM Yogi to John Abraham: Top politicians, celebs at MotoGP Bharat

The inaugural MotoGP Bharat came to its successful end on Sunday with VR46 rider Marco Bezzecchi claiming the top honours at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida. The event was a star-studded affair with a host of known personalities, encompassing politicians, cricketers, and bollywood stars in attendance. Let’s take a look at who all was there to witness history.

Amongst the top dignitaries who were present at the first-ever Grand Prix of India, was UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who handed the trophy to the winner. Along with him, Union Minister Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and Anurag Thakur, Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports in India.​

Popular Yogi and motivational speaker Sadhguru visited the BIC and led the inaugural lap on his BMW R 1250 RT tourer, ahead of the commencement of the practice sessions.

John Abraham, who is a passionate MotoGP fan, and is known for his love for riding sports bikes both in real life and on the silverscreen, was also in attendance. The ‘Dhoom’ star also took a sweep across the BIC on the BMW M 1000 RR before the race began. He urged the Indian parents to promote motorcycle racing in India and assured them that it is safe.

​In a country that loves cricket, it’s hard to imagine a sporting event happening and cricketers not showing up. Indian cricketers Yuvraj Singh and Shikhar Dhawan were also in attendance during the MotoGP while Suresh Raina came earlier during the weekend and took a bullet ride with six-time premier class Marc Marquez.

​Bollywood star and Ducati India’s brand ambassador Ranveer Singh was also among the celebrities who enjoyed the race. Singh also visited Ducati’s pit box and posed with Paolo Ciabatti and Pecco Bagnaia’s bike.
