New Maruti Suzuki Dzire Launch Live Update: Price, Features, Safety Rating, Booking and more
Good morning everyone, Maruti Suzuki recently revealed the new and updated Maruti Dzire sedan in the Indian market.The new Dzire in its fourth generation gets a completely new design, interior, new engine and several first-in-segment features. The bookings for the sedan are already underway, interested customers can book the car online or by visiting their website and the booking amount is set at Rs 11,000. The brand will be launching the new Dzire in the Indian market today and is expected to be priced from Rs 7 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Dzire is expected to be offered in five variants - LXI, VXI, VXI (O), ZXI and ZXI plus and the sedan continues to compete with the Honda Amaze, Hyundai Aura and Tata Tigor. In terms of design, the new Dzire is no longer just a Swift with boot, the sedan features an all-new exterior design with no resemblance to the new Swift or outgoing Dzire. At the rear, it features Y-shaped LED elements in the tail lights, joined by a chrome strip that spans the tailgate. The boot lid has a spoiler-style bulge, and the rear bumper includes distinctive contouring. The top-spec trims will come equipped with 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and also LED taillights with DRLs.

The overall interior design is inspired by the Swift hatchback, the Dzire offers a more varied palette of colors and textures, unlike the black-and-silver scheme of the Swift. The seats are upholstered in beige, while the dashboard combines dark brown, faux wood accents, and silver trim. It features same 9-inch SmartPlay Pro Plus infotainment system found in other Maruti Suzuki models.

The new Dzire fearures a flat hood with subtle creases at each corner. It features stylishCrystal Vision headlamps with blacked-out surrounds which looks totally cool. The grille is larger, now with five horizontal slats, and the top panel is finished in piano black with a chrome strip. In profile, the doors and fenders sport more sculpted contours, while the alloy wheels are redesigned, with higher variants featuring a diamond-cut pattern.

The bodyshell of the new Maruti Dzire was assessed as stable and able to endure additional stress. The test model was equipped with six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, reverse parking sensors, a seatbelt reminder, and a speed alert system as standard features.

The new Dzire continues to compete with Honda Amaze, Hyundai Aura and Tata Tigor. The Amaze is now due to get a generation change and will soon be launched in the Indian market. The new Dzire can also be had via Maruti's subscription service with a monthly payment of Rs 18,248.

The LXi MT is priced at 6.79 lakh, VXI MT is priced at 7.79 lakh, VXI AMT is priced at 8.24 lakh, VXI CNG is priced at 8.74 lakh. Talking about the top-of-the-line ZXI, it’s priced at 9.69 lakh for MT and 10.14 lakh for AMT. All prices mentioned here are introductory and are ex-showroom.

The new Dzire measures 3,995mm in length, 1,735mm in width, and 1,525mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,450mm and a ground clearance of 163mm. The car’s dimensions are almost identical to the previous model, with the only difference being a 10mm increase in height. The top-spec trims will come equipped with 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels

New Maruti Suzuki Dzire launch: First-in-segment features
The new Maruti Suzuki Dzire gets many first-in-segment features. It now gets a single pane electric sunroof and 360-degree camera. Other features include a 9-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, connected car tech, semi-digital cluster, automatic climate control, flat-bottom steering wheel and more. It also gets segment-first features such as a single-pane electric sunroof, rear AC vents and a rear centre armrest.

JNCAP's evaluation also covered pedestrian safety. The Swift scored 2.7 out of 4 for pedestrian head protection, 2.8 out of 3.6 for passenger seat belt reminder, and achieved full scores for pedestrian leg protection and its emergency call system. The new Swift also achieved the highest rating for neck injury protection in rear-end collisions. Unlike NCAP tests, which focus on child occupant protection in the rear seats, JNCAP uses adult-sized dummies to assess rear-seat safety.

India-bound Maruti Swift too underwent crash test recently by Japan NCAP. The fourth-generation Suzuki Swift has scored a 4-star safety rating. The new Swift has scored 177.8 out of 197 in safety evaluations, with the highest marks for preventive safety. In crash tests, it scored 81.1 out of 100 for occupant protection, undergoing various assessments including a full frontal test at 55 kph, frontal-offset test at 64 kph, side impact, and rear-end collision tests at 55 kph

Maruti Suzuki will offer the third-generation Dzire Tour S alongside the newly launched fourth-generation model. The Dzire Tour S, designed for fleet and taxi services, will remain based on the current third-gen version. Maruti has faced considerable criticism in the past regarding the safety ratings of its vehicles. In an effort to address these concerns, the company voluntarily submitted the Dzire to Global NCAP for crash testing, demonstrating their confidence in its safety features. Global NCAP even evaluated the previous-generation model for comparison. As expected, the third-generation Dzire earned a disappointing 2-star rating for both adult and child occupant protection, with the bodyshell and footwell area also receiving an unstable rating.

The sedan also performed well in side impact tests, offering good protection for the head, chest, abdomen, and pelvis. In Child occupancy, the Maruti Dzire scored 39.20 out of 42 points. The report noted that the 3-year-old child seat, installed forward-facing with ISOFIX anchorages, prevented excessive forward movement in a frontal impact, offering full protection to the head and chest, though limited protection to the neck. The 18-month-old child seat, installed rearward-facing with ISOFIX, fully protected the head during frontal impact. Both child restraint systems (CRS) provided full protection during the crash, with successful installation in all positions.

As per GNCAP, in adult occupancy the protection for the driver’s and passenger’s head and neck was rated as good, while the driver’s chest received marginal protection and the passenger’s chest had adequate protection. Both the driver’s and passenger’s knees were well-protected. The bodyshell and footwell areas were rated stable, with the bodyshell able to withstand additional loads.

The new Dzire has scored an impressive 5-star safety rating in adult occupant protection and a 4-star safety rating for child occupant protection. By this, the fourth-generation Dzire is the first Maruti ever to have scored a 5-star rating from Global NCAP. The Dzire secured a score of 31.24 points out of 34 in adult occupant protection and in child occupant protection, the Dzire secured 39.20 points out of 42.
