Nostradamus predictions for 2025: What came true so far and what did not
Nostradamus, the astrologer and physician who lived in the 1500s made some sensational predictions for future generations. Some of his predictions left the world shocked. The man is also noted for his book Les Prophetis (The Prophecies), which was published in 1555. For those who don’t know, his book of prophecies has 942 poetic quatrains (global events).
There are now only a few days left in 2025 and soon the world will enter 2026, a new year with new hopes and resolutions. But amid all the ongoing global war chaos and climate concerns, are the last days of 2025 still filled with some hope or not? Well, it is one of the most important questions that arises as we near the end of the year. Let’s try to understand and uncover the 2025 mystery with the prediction of the famous 16th century French astronomer, Nostadamus, who is also famous as the ‘Prophet of Doom’ on social media.
Let’s find out what Nostradamus predicted for 2025 and what came true so far and what did not. Read on:
What researchers believe
There are several researchers who keep analysing his work. According to them, 2025 would see some hard-hitting events. It might be a global conflict, asteroid collision or another plague-like outbreak in the UK. Nostradamus's 2025 predictions are interpreted as warnings of climate disasters, and a new "Aquatic Empire," or “rivers overflowing”, among others (Note: There is no scientific or historical evidence).
Let’s have a look at some of his prominent predictions for 2025:
End of an ongoing continent-wide war
“Through long war all the army exhausted, so that they do not find money for the soldiers; instead of gold or silver, they will come to coin leather, Gallic brass, and the crescent sign of the Moon.”
It’s a vague writing but many researches suggest the prediction refers to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war because “Gallic brass” hints at France and “crescent sign of the Moon” at Turkey. So 2025 could bring a weakening or end of a long-time war because both sides run out of resources. But the war is still on despite global efforts of bringing peace.
A “new plague” in Europe
“When those from the lands of Europe / See England set up her throne behind / Her flanks, there will be cruel wars. The ancient plague will be worse than enemies.”
According to this, England, or Britain or the UK, may be involved in internal or external conflict. It also mentions that an old or “ancient” plague might be reborn causing greater damage. Also vague writing and nothing like this has yet happened.
Natural disasters in Brazil
“Garden of the world near the new city, In the path of the hollow mountains: It will be seized and plunged into the Tub, Forced to drink waters poisoned by sulphur.”
Researchers interpret “garden of the world” as the Amazon rainforest in Brazil and that the city might suffer a volcanic or flood disaster. A major environmental calamity in South America in 2025 is predicted.
End of the world
“From the cosmos, a fireball will rise”, the end of the world in 2025?
“From the cosmos, a fireball will rise” is another 2025 prediction that’s making people worldwide curious. Though not a direct or dated quatrain from Nostradamus. it ‘s a modern paraphrase that suggests the world will come to an end by the end of 2025 because of “cosmic fireball”. HIstoricans stress ambiguity and people find patterns after events happen. However, agencies like NASA keep a close check on near-Earth objects (NEOs) and there’s no risk as of nowhere’s evidence-based prediction of an asteroid hitting the earth in 2025.
One famous prediction that probably came true:
Interpreters suggested this passage refers to the demise of an elderly Pope (possibly Pope Francis), a prediction they claim has already come true. Another related prophecy often attributed to Nostradamus reads:
“In the final persecution of the Holy Roman Church, there will sit Peter the Roman, who will pasture his sheep amid many tribulations; and when these things are completed, the city of seven hills will be destroyed, and the dreadful Judge will judge His people. The End.”
Rome is also known as the “City of Seven Hills.” This verse is closely linked to an idea which suggests a final Pope presiding over the Church during a time of great turmoil.
In the end, it is important to note that these predictions are only modern interpretations of the author's quatrains and not clearly dated by Nostradamus himself. Also there is no scholarly consensus that Nostradamus explicitly meant these events in 2025; it all depends on connecting the dots with his poetic verses and vague writings to present events.
