Remedies to strengthen Saturn and seek its blessings
Struggling with delays and conflicts in life? Then these may be the subtle signs of Saturn afflictions. In Vedic astrology and ancient Indian texts, Saturn or Shani Dev is the Lord of justice, discipline, karma and long-term rewards. It is believed that Shani Dev often tests people through hurdles and delays before granting stability and wisdom, and to seek his blessings, it is essential to strengthen this stern planet through remedies that can appease Lord Shani and reduce the malefic effects of Saturn. Here are some simple remedies to seek blessings of Lord Shani.
Worship Lord Shiva daily
According to Vedic astrology, it is believed that Saturn reveres Lord Shiva as the primary deity, which makes Shiva puja a cornerstone remedy. It is believed that offering bilva leaves, chanting "Om Namah Shivaya" 108 times on Saturdays, and performing Rudrabhishek with mustard oil are believed to dissolve karmic debts and bring in peace, growth and abundance in life.
Chant Shani Beej Mantra
Another powerful way to seek the blessing of Lord Shani is to recite "Om Praam Preem Proum Sah Shanaishcharaye Namah" 23,000 times over 40 days; this is as per the Saturn Hora on Saturdays facing the South direction. It is believed that devotional chanting with a black mala pacifies Shani's intensity, which fosters mental clarity and protection.
Observe Saturday Fasting
It is believed that fasting on Shanivar (Saturdays) can involve consuming only light sattvic foods like sesame seeds or urad dal after sunset and can also help seek blessings. It is believed that observing eight consecutive fasts on Saturdays can help seek Saturn's sacred number, purify the body and attune you to its disciplined rhythm for lasting prosperity.
Donate items
It is believed that offering black sesame seeds, mustard oil, iron utensils, black lentils, or black cloth to the needy or in Shani temples every Saturday evening. According to Hindu beliefs, selfless daan during Pushya, Anuradha, or Uttara Bhadrapada Nakshatras neutralizes doshas effectively. As per Hindu traditions, charity to elders or the disabled is believed to invoke Saturn's justice, clearing ancestral obstacles.
Recite Hanuman Chalisa
Lord Hanuman neutralizes Shani's gaze; read the Chalisa 7 times daily or on Tuesdays/Saturdays. This shields against Sade Sati, inviting courage and timely justice in life's challenges.
