JAIPUR: In what could be the grandest oath-taking ceremony in the history of Rajasthan,
Vasundhara Raje’s event on Friday is expected to be attended by 50,000 people. As part of preparations 30 LED screens have been installed and 45,000 chairs are in place. Right from the airport to the Vidhan Sabha, roads are decked up with BJP flags and new saplings have been planted.
Inside the assembly, where main function will take place, three stages have been set up. The main stage has been reserved for Governor Margaret Alva and Raje. On the other two, senior BJP leaders, religious and spiritual leaders will be seated.
To give a royal touch to the ceremony, the whole city has been decked up. JLN Marg and roads connecting to the airport and the assembly have been specially decorated. BJP flags are placed at every lamp post while huge cut-outs of Raje are visible everywhere. Areas around the assembly have been given a wash and houses at the Kacchi Basti area are cleaned. In fact, one of the private houses on the Janpath has been white washed by the JDA.
More than 500 people are pressed into action to make the event a grand one. Senior officials of JDA and the general administration department (GAD) are working round the clock to give last minute touch to the preparations. Along with the government officials, BJP office bearers too have taken responsibility for the preparations. Party officials are ensuring that whole event goes as per wish the of Raje.
For the common man, seating facilities are made on the Janpath staring form the Ambedkar Circle up to the Vidhyut Bhawan. At the main venue, nearly 30 LED will be placed which will show live broadcast of the oath-taking ceremony. Apart from the 45,000 chairs, officials overseeing preparations claimed that more 5,000 people can be accommodate at the last minute if such a need arises.
However, those coming for the ceremony may have to face some difficulties as the parking areas are set up far away from the venue. Entry of vehicles will be allowed from Bais Godam overbridge and parking facility will be available at Amroodon Ka Bagh. Vehicles coming form Rambagh Circle and Statue Circle will have to park at SMS hospital or Udyog Maidan and whole road at Janpath.
On the day of oath ceremony, Olympian Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore will lead a marathon ‘Run for Unity’ which will be inaugurated by BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
A traffic department official advised daily commuters to take an alternative route other than roads leading to state assembly and Ambedkar Circle to reach their destination. Officials said that people will not get caught in possible traffic jams if they avoid these routes.
