Musical tribute to Manna Dey in Kolkata organized at a city auditorium

A packed auditorium was left teary-eyed when Haimanti Shukla rendered Thikana na rekhe bhaloi korecho. Yes, the evening was a sombre one, when singers of the city united to remember the legendary singer Manna Dey Bendhechi Amar Smoronobin, organized at a city auditorium recently, had the who’s who of the music fraternity in attendance.

The crowd sang along with Kumar Sanu, as he crooned the popular track Yeh dosti from Sholay. Babul Supriyo, Raghab Chattopadhyay, Arundhati Holme Chowdhury and Emon Chatterjee then made sure that the audience had a good dose of Dey’s songs. The event came to an end with veteran actor Soumitra Chatterjee sharing his treasured memories with the legendary singer.
