Lot of the rings: The engagement ceremony of Rajat Prakash, son of Renu Prakash and OP Srivastava, with Shveta, daughter of Seema and Vijay Parihar, was held recently in the capital, and saw some from the Delhi political circuit making an appearance. Helping the parents play host was Subrata Roy, who also received guests there. Everyone was eagerly waiting for ‘babaji’, and we eventually found out that it was none other than Baba Ramdev who had come to bless the couple.
Poetic munda: Before they exchanged rings, Rajat recited a few lines for Shveta, and even said ‘I love you’ to her on stage, to much applause. The band started playing Hum Tere Bin Ab Reh Nahi Sakte the moment they exchanged rings. They were blessed by Roy, and he also gifted a watch to the to-be-bride. When asked how they met, the couple pointed to a mutual friend and said, “It’s because of him.” “We met at a friend’s party, started talking and today, here we are – engaged,” said Rajat.
