The recently held drama fest by the Artist Welfare Society concluded at Bharat Bhavan with a comedy play titled Chhutti.
The play was directed by Niti Srivastava and written by Sanjay Srivastava. It was a rib-tickling act that left Bhopalites in splits. The story revolved around an employee who lies to his boss for getting a day’s leave. The lie turns to be a scourge for the employee and the story progresses with the way he tries to hide the fact that he had lied for getting the leave.
SUCH PLAYS ARE A PLEASANT CHANGE: Akansha Verma, a theatre artiste, said, “I feel that watching plays give you a pleasant experience that is beyond anything else. Recently, I also acted in one of the plays, and I know what kind of appreciation matters for an artiste. It gives me an eternal satisfaction whether I act or I watch a play.”
Mridula Bhardwaj, a viewer, said, “The atmosphere of Bharat Bhavan is very peaceful. It’s a great place to spend some peaceful time watching the classic plays that are staged here.” Lata Sharma, another viewer, remarked, “My family members are very fond of plays and I also like them a lot. The comedy of the play was refreshing and people burst out laughing. Apart from that, the artistes were very talented and played their parts very well.”
