Google Docs get voice command support for editing
NEW DELHI: Search engine giant Google has rolled out a new functionality to its Docs which will enable you to edit and format the text with the users’ voice. The company is working on building voice typing feature which it showcased last year in September.
Users just need to select the ‘voice typing’ option from the Tools menu at the time of using Docs in Chrome. Once the option is selected then a microphone icon will appear alongside the document. Google will start listening to the voice commands after clicking that symbol. Users can also start formatting and editing with commands like copy, insert table and highlight.
Along with this, the users will also be able to highlight and replace a word and also start lists or change heading formats. Moreover, users can also give breaks in paragraph, select specific text, add bullets and apply different formats and even add a text smiley face in the doc file.
Presently, the voice command feature only works for Google Docs in Chrome. Moreover, voice commands only work for English language documents.
