Annual IAS meet held at Pantnagar

The 57th Annual Conference of the Indian Society of Agricultural Statistics concluded recently at Pantnagar University of Agriculture and Technology. The conference was inaugurated by Dr R. Chidambaram, principal scientific advisor to the government of India. Dr P.L. Gautam, VC, G.B. Pant University, Dr Panjab Singh, former DG, ICAR, and president, ISAS, were the other speakers.At the inaugural session, The Dr P.V. Sukhatme Gold Medal'' was conferred on Dr V.K. Bhatia, principal scientist, Indian Agricultural Statistics Research Institute, New Delhi, by Dr R. Chidambaram. Dr Chidambaram also inaugurated the society''s website and a felicitation volume on the 70th birthday of Dr Prem Narain, president, ISAS, on the occasion. The conference was attended by over 200 delegates.
