Reiterating that all is well in the Samajwadi Party ahead of the silver jubilee celebrations, RJD supremo Lalu Prasad said on Friday that all disputes in the SP had been resolved and it would form the next government in Uttar Pradesh.

State president of Samajwadi Party Shivpal Yadav warned all expelled leaders that they should stay away from the party's silver jubilee function to be celebrated on Friday.

Samajwadi Party was born out of Mulayam Singh Yadav's strained ties with VP Singh. That was early 90s and both were in Janata Dal. While VP was the prime minister, Mulayam was UP's chief minister. However the two never shared a cordial ties and its genesis lay in the previous decade when Singh was the UP CM and Mulayam a firebrand Lok Dal MLA.

The strain in the family relations may still be far from over, but the Samajwadi Party is now taking care to get its public messages, ahead of its silver jubilee celebrations, in order. Posters of the Samajwadi function on Saturday found Akhilesh taking centrestage next to SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, even as the mega programme is being planned and executed under the watch of uncle Shivpal Yadav, who is also the state chief.

The stage is set for the silver jubilee celebrations of the Samajwadi Party at Janeshwar Mishra Park on Saturday. The grand programme has also become significant as it will see the reunion of the Janata Parivar, if not the formation of a mahagathbandhan (grand alliance) yet.

As the Vijay Rath Yatra of chief minister Akhilesh Yadav traverses through city areas like Lohia Path, Gomtinagar, Gomtinagar Extension and Kanpur Road, schools falling on the route have been asked to remain shut on Thursday.
