Quizzing in the genes?
My father Neil O'Brien is a very liberal man! At home we were never discouraged to ask questions. To my father, quizzing was just a hobby, he never took it as a profession. It's the same thing with me.
I think quizzing is all about knowledge and presentation.
I came into this profession because I was in the communication industry for years.
Too much money
Quizzing has evolved with time and we have to accept the way things have changed. However, quizzing still remains 51 per cent content and 49 per cent presentation. Yes the prizes are attractive but one cannot take ���knowledge' out of quizzing.
It has evolved over the years and it is now competing with one-day cricket.
The best brains are here
We have it in our vedas that Indians have immense respect for knowledge. Even the best of talents in US are Indians. We are always hungry to know more, which helps us immensely.
Managing time, as a father and a husband
I don't know about being the perfect husband. Answering how Derek ���the father' manages, is simpler. I am travelling most of the time, but whenever I am in Kolkata I make it a point to spend all my time with my daughter. I take her out everyday.

Not at all! My daughter is not at all interested in quizzing!
When not quizzing..
I watch a lot of one-day cricket. That helps me unwind
The other side of Derek..
Right now I am on my way for an election campaign with Mamata Banerjee. I truly believe that today in India people crib a lot that we don't have good politicians.
The general perception is that all politicians are bad. I believe if one feels that there are no good politicians, then good people should join politics.
The ideal coffee date
Anybody yaar! I am a people's person. For a date anybody will do...from Aamir Khan and Sushmita Sen to Mamata Banerjee!
