Biography
Gayathri Ponvannan is a network engineer/SEO consultant (by profession), and a writer (by choice)! Her works have appeared in leading publications including The Gulf News, The Hindu, and in a good many short story anthologies. Gayathri lives in Dubai, and is currently working on two children’s fiction books, which are due to be released this year.

"Why is India so dirty?" asked a colleague, fresh from his first trip to India. "It's dirty everywhere - heaps and heaps of filth. Don't you people ever clean the place?"
On an average, I drive around 100km a day. It's not a very tiring job, really, considering the fact that most of my journey is on expressways that require little maneuvering - just plain cruising.
I first left for Dubai way back in 2001, my head buzzing with one ubiquitous advice doled out by anxious relatives : “Make sure you come back in a few years ... it’s just not possible to raise kids out there”.
"I live in Dubai" - this statement is guaranteed to elicit wildly varied responses among my friends, depending on their geographical locations. Friends in the UK conjure up images of me sunning by a pool while tax-free income clicks into my bank account.
