Varun Badola’s sister Alka Kaushal in trouble

There have been reports in the last 48 hours that Varun Badola’s sister, actress Alka Kaushal, is in jail, after she and her mother Sushila Badola were sentenced to two years’ imprisonment in a cheque bouncing case. However, at the time of going to press, our source said that they had not been arrested and were, in fact, consulting with their lawyers.
Alka, who has acted in serials like 'Swaragini' and 'Qubool Hai' and Bollywood films like 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' and 'Queen', had reportedly borrowed `50 lakhs from an acquaintance, Avtar Singh.When Avtar asked Alka to return the money, he was given two cheques of 25 lakhs each, which bounced. Avtar then filed a case against Alka and her mother; the district court in Punjab on Thursday upheld the two-year jail sentence verdict given by a local court.
The source says, “Currently Alka and her family are travelling between Delhi and Malerkotla to find a way out. All reports of the actress and her mother being put behind bars are incorrect. It is bizarre that the complainant had filed the case in a remote town in Punjab when Alka lives
in Mumbai.”
