Why Raman Handa had a court marriage before a traditional one

Actor Raman Handa, last seen in 'Hello Pratibha', had a roka ceremony on May 10 and a court marriage with actress Shraddha Arya’s sister Divya recently.
He says, “It’s difficult for people to trust actors when it comes to relationships or marriages, more so in the case of a male actor. It becomes a task for him to earn the trust of the girl’s family and convince them.Everyone wants a businessman or someone with a secure job for their daughters; they think twice when it comes to an actor.

My case was no different. Though Divya is an actress’ sister, she has consciously stayed away from the limelight. We had to convince our parents that we will stick to our decision of marriage. So, for the sake of security and assurance to our parents, we decided to tie the knot in the court before we actually get married as per rituals.”
However, the newly-weds have decided to stay separately until they tie the knot publicly. He says, “It’s my childhood dream to get married in a grand way and I don’t want to compromise on that. Our wedding, as per Hindu rituals, will take place this year on November 26.”
