The siege of Chittor! – When humanity came to a standstill!

The popular historical show 'Bharat Ka Veer Putra Maharana Pratap' on Sony Entertainment Television depicts the life of the Great Warrior of Mewar, Maharana Pratap and his fight for his kingdom.
Akbar being Pratap’s arch nemesis was looking for one right opportunity to defeat Pratap and therefore made a master plan to siege Chittor. For those who know history, this was the biggest bloodshed ever witnessed by the human race. Akbar with his evil plans, for the first time, succeeded in defeating Mahrana Pratap!

The siege began when Akbar and Mughal forces surrounded a six mile territory around Chittor to capture it. During the entire fight, Akbar strategized to penetrate the fort, leaving no scope for Pratap to save his kingdom. The master mind of Akbar further plotted more than one evil strategy by organizing his sappers, digging tunnels and much more to enter the fortress of Chittor to acquire the land.
Known for his power and huge army, Akbar used 6000 thousand men, 350 elephants, 95 swivel guns and about 800 Matchlocks for the war acquire Chittor. While Akbar fought with all his might, Chittor’s army of a mere 8000 men. The fateful battle saw death of about 30000 unarmed innocent people of Chittor with women commiting Johar (an act of jumping into fire) and unarmed men running into Akbar’s army and sacrificing their lives for Chittor.
