Sara pays a cabaret homage to Aruna Irani before ‘slapping’ her!

A rather crackling introduction has been planned for actress Sara Khan, who will enter as Parvati, an aspiring Bhojpuri actress, in the TV show 'Bhaghyalakshmi'. She will perform a cabaret to 'Desi Look' from the movie 'Ek Paheli Leela', dressed in a knee-length, orange ghagra teamed with a golden halter choli.
Excited about sharing screen space with Aruna Irani (who plays the matriarch), Sara treats this cabaret number as a tribute to the veteran actress.Says she, “I play Arunaji’s daughter, who was abandoned as a child. Now, I am back to take revenge. I perform a cabaret in front of all family members in an attempt to shame Arunaji. I have tried to incorporate her style of dancing in my performance. I have grown up watching her work and have tried to do justice to it.”

While Sara was confident during the dance performance, it was the ‘slapgate’ sequence that had her on tenterhooks. The actress had to slap the senior actress in a scene. “Unable to take it anymore, Arunaji slaps me and I slap her back. Before the sequence, I apologised to her several times telling her how I feel sorry about it and that I am required to do it for a scene. She calmed me and told me to go ahead with the scene. We had to slap each other just once, but because the scene was canned from different angles, we ended up slapping each other almost nine times,” she says.
