The issue of Jallikattu ban has become a raging topic in Tamil Nadu at the moment. Many Kollywood celebrities have shown solidarity along with the common people, who are protesting on the streets to lift the ban.

Superstars like Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Vijay, Suriya, Dhanush and many others have voiced their support for the bull taming sport and are pushing people to not give up on their tradition and culture.

While, Rajinikanth said that Jalllikattu should be allowed as it is an integral part of Tamil culture. Kamal Haasan insisted that he has always been in favour of the sport and that if Jallikattu is banned, then Biryani should be banned too. Vijay had voiced his support through a video where he praised the youngsters, who are leading the protests and claimed that laws are made to protect the rights of people and not to take them away. Actor Suriya responded with a passionate open letter after the Allandhur protests. Other than these celebrities many other actors, directors, producers and music composers have shown unanimous support to the people, who are against the ban.
But spearheading the protests that are happening across the state actor Simbu, who has taken it upon himself to ensure that the ban is lifted. In fact, the actor has even said that he will go to prison if need be, but that the ban must be lifted.
Moreover, according to IANS, Southern film actress Nayanthara also came out in support of Jallikattu and the youngsters who are protesting against the ban on the ancient and popular bull-taming sport, celebrated during Pongal festival in Tamil Nadu. The native of Kerala said that,"The power of youth is proven again. What Tamil Nadu has been witnessing for the past few days in support of Jallikattu is an unprecedented history. It indeed makes me proud to be part of this state."
