Vidya Balan to essay Kamala Surayya?

After making a memorable film on the father of Malayalam Cinema, J.C. Daniel, veteran director of Mollywood, Kamal is all set to make a biopic again.
This time he has chosen the internationally acclaimed Indian English writer Kamala Surayya aka Madhavikutty as the subject. And the director is busy scripting the movie keeping National Award winning actress Vidya Balan in mind.“My film will be on Madhavikutty’s life, and it will focus on her personal and creative sides.
The movie will be divided into three episodes —her married life, the time around which she penned her autobiography— Ente Katha, and phase post her conversion to Islam, that is, her life as Kamala Surayya,” he explains.
On his choice of Vidya for the role, Kamal says, “I find Vidya Balan the perfect person to bring alive Madhavikutty on the silver screen. The moment I discussed this idea with her, she expressed her happiness. Though she is yet to sign the dotted line, she said that she would be glad to take up the project. The film will be shot in mid- 2016 and I am now busy with the pre-production work.”
Incidentally Kamal’s movie Chakram might very well have been Vidya’s film debut as she was cast opposite Mohanlal. However, it was shelved after the shooting began.
